Yonder Mountain String Band!!!

wow, just wow. seen them this evening in downtown st.Louis.
they played for almost 4 hours. last show on the tour.
i took about 2.5 g's, and ate some brownies, really made for a wonderful night!
had the time of my life, this band is amazing live, i highly recommend!!!
im speechless.

huh.  Im a huge bluegrass band, and have had them suggested to me on this site.  But when I listen they hardly even sound like bluegrass.  To me they are just another jam band.  I got bored of there music and havent listened in a while.

Are they bluegrass?

Somebody should upload their best track so I can give them another shot.

yonder is the shit. they are definitely bluegrass. get any of their mountain tracks cds, there's like 5 or 6 of them now.

It was so amazing.
I think they really need to be seen live to really appreciate them! their recordings do not do them justice, like most good bands.
I had the time of my life. bluegrass or jamgrass or whatever you want to call it...Screw putting it into genres just enjoy, its good music.

i consider them jamgrass, and i'm a HUGE fan of theirs.

They have the best stage presence of any band I've seen live. Can't help but dance - laugh at the stage banter.

in example: last year at allgood they played a ~6pm saturday show. It started to rain halfway through and Mr. Mando (Austin) pulled out the "play through" quote from caddyshack. It was quite a hilarious sight. It started to pour, you see a crowd of thousands of people move toward the exit - he says his speech - and you see them hord back to the stage.

Quite the migration to observe whilst tripping

so true, their presence is amazing, my legs and neck are very sore from dancing all night, and yes quite amazing on mushrooms! they were taking shots between songs to toast the end of the tour and beginning of a new one, starting in April! and yeah their stage banter is hilarious.

during the encore, jeff, said were trying to think of songs we haven't played so far this tour, and after a while chatting it up with the guys, he said you know, one of the worst reviews we've read of us, said were just a really good cover band, nothing more, fuck it, i like playing good music, then starts a kick ass version of New Speedway Boogie.

also during this show, jeff jumped down into the crowd while playing the mandolin, he said he wanted to see what the band looks like from the audience view lol.
