I actually know nothing about bluegrass at all...I always thought that it would really bore me so I've never even checked it out.

I don't think I'd call John Prine bluegrass, but he's in my top ten {for over 30 years now } Bluegrass is an American invention.I used to go to this "fiddlers convention" in Chadds Ford, Pa. every summer.Old dudes from all over [the south]. Best live bluegrass ever.......mixed with regular grass and stone jugs of corn liquor....

back in the city i was in during highscool, there was this place with this plastic grass and fake palm trees which overlooked the docks. the grass was shaped in waves, really fuckin awsome. we would go there sometimes at night and get drunk as hell. we nicked named it "wavy grass" and also "bluegrass"
completely unrelated to what you were talkin about though. im jsut driftin on memory lane

Bluegrass attained widespread popularity largely through two numbers performed by Flatt and Scruggs: ?The Ballad of Jed Clampett,? the theme song for the television sitcom ?The Beverly Hillbillies? (1962?71); and an instrumental, ?Foggy Mountain Breakdown,? featured in the film Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
