Best bulk compost kit?

I've tried groing mushrooms using the pf tech a couple times, with minimal success. i did have one successful crop, but after a couple failures. Now i am thinking about growing with eaither the dung brothers kit, or homestead's easy ez-grwo kit, or one of the other compost kits avaliable. i'd like to know what peoples experience is with these, and which they would recomend. also any tips for using them would be appreciated. thanks alot for hearing me out, and i'd really appricate any responses.
Thanks, Mojo

My advice would be to avoid the kits. First, if you're just now getting the hang of the PF Tek, I recommend sticking with it for a while until you feel very comfortable with your processes. Second, IMHO, the kits are ridiculously over-priced. Once you feel that you've mastered the PF Tek, do a little research and try something else.
Good luck!

I used the Magic Mushroom.com big ass grow thing and it estimated 1 pound dry per month. I never even used it cuz once I opened it up and then discovered this site I realized it was like 200 dollars too expensive and it was not a very good setup. Just keep the pf tek going and make your own bulk setup. it saves money and is more rewarding in the end.

I agree with rather sticking to the pf style, case them, get the hang of casings and then rather buy your won dung or straw and pasturize and spawn yourself. Easier and cheaper. Those big bulk grow kits are money making schemese if you ask me.

OK, I'll be the contrarian here. I'm wrapping up my first grow experience ever and it was with Homestead's EZ-Grow kit, bought for the standard price of $108, which as others have pointed out repeatedly is *way* too expensive. And it is, for what you get materially. What has not been pointed out though, is that if you can afford it, it is a relatively easy method for not only producing a pretty good batch of cube's, but if you pay attention, it'll teach you a ton about growing. And, in a method much easier to understand than all the info, tek's and faqs in this site. The yield, through 2 flushes, is well over a 100 good sized shrooms and their potency is fine.
I was well pleased with the results and have no ill words for Homestead, however, I won't buy from them again. Now that I've had a living example in front of me which I can relate to the vast info here, I feel pretty confident that I can go on my own from now on.
My 2 cents, anyhow...

I am currently in the process of using the Homestead EZ Gro kit and things couldn't be going better....well things could always be faster I guess. But this is my first attempt at growing and this is quite simple. For those who know how the EZ Gro kit works the bag of grain was colonized and planted on Day 13 and today (Day 17) the compost looks to be totally colonized. I'm quite happy with my purchase and can't wait until my little friends begin to appear. Prior to planting I did consider getting a lot more casing and making a lot bigger crop but since I'm inexperienced I decided against the bulk procedures.
