I really hope im not alone in saying that i find the visual symptoms of HPPD to be kind of pleasant.
The occasional trail from a passing car's tail light or the slight blur of my couch as i walk past it almost seems to have a therapeutic effect. They remind me of great times in the past and they allow me to look ahead with excitement and hope for another evening of full-blown psychedelicity, hopefully not in the too distant future.
If the symptoms i have described are actually the precursor to an abrupt and debilitating psychosis, i see no shame in enjoying the hell out of getting there. However, my mentality outside of these perceptual hallucinations seems to only improve as i go forward through this winding, uphill, dirt-road journey we call life. We may get tired and fatigued the further we go, but as long as we enjoy the scenery along the way, and have the best possible time in following our own path, its all worth it. Trip wisely...

Nice post...
I'm pretty sure I have HPPD or something like it... I know that I cane make something look trippy on command. I just unfocus my eyes and let my brain do what it will with the image. Things can get kinda crazy.

my friend recently took an abnormal psych class and he said you don't have HPPD unless it gives you distress, otherwise you just tripped too much and you're loving every second of it

I don't have it unless I choose to. Normally my vision is fine, no visuals except some CEV. But I can make myself trip out if I want to just by tweaking how I focus on shit.
