and more to the point:

"It must be emphasized that individuals without HPPD will sometimes notice visual abnormalities. These include floaters (material floating in the eye fluid that appears as black/dark objects floating in front of the eyes and are particularly visible when looking at the bright sky or on a white wall) and the white blood cells of the retinal blood vessels (seen as tiny, fast-moving and quickly disappearing white specks). Likewise, bright lights in an otherwise dark environment may generate trails and halos. Most people don't notice these effects, because they are so used to them. A person fearful of having acquired HPPD may be much more conscious about any visual disturbance, including those that are normal."

No lol I think I'd have noticed these types of rainbows.  And it's only happened from LSD, shrooms haven't done it to me like that,  I get distortions of objects, are you going to tell me that's always happened to me too?  Everyone's brains I'm sure fuck up here and there but if you're seeing rainbows like I was seeing, I'd consider a doctor :lol:


As for the fear of HPPD, I'm not afraid of getting it, if I was I probably wouldn't use hallucinogenic drugs anymore.  Do I want it? Nope.

the next day is not HPPD.  I have had visual distortions like my trousers melting and bending 4 or 5 days after a heavy trip...if it is not persistent it is not HPPD.

if you subject your brain to 5-12hrs of extreme visual distortion it is going to take more than just a night's sleep to fully recover

No, what I'm describing is completely different. I know what you're talking about, sort of like what happens when you squint your eyes while looking at the street lights, but what I see now at all times is something unique. I don't know, if you had a fairly intense visual hallucination on LSD that never went away, you would probably claim HPPD as well. Or maybe schizo affective.

No, what I'm describing is completely different. I actually like it. It is a reminder for all the experiences and lessons I have gained from psychedelics. The halos have never been large enough to block my view of the roads.

I had that once on a mushroom trip. My buddy and I walked into a convenience store to grab something and everything was so bright. All the tiles and everything else that was reflecting the store lights had rainbows coming off of them. I had a corneal abrasion prior to this experience so I assumed that my pupils dilated beyond the slight scar that remained so some of the light that entered my eye was refracted in a different way creating the rainbows.

yo did you go to nocturnal festival?


I did, both nights. It was awesome. I'm gonna get my friend to send me some videos he took while we were there.

*Edit: I don't think that was from the abrasion dazzle. I still perceive this when sober, and when I trip now it changes and becomes even larger and more vibrant.
I notice the color spectrum around the light changes depending on the hue of the bulb so I think it could be the light being diffracted.
