Body Tensions

Does anybody else have EXTREME tension in their jaw, neck, and shoulders? I am constantly feeling the tension there, but every other part of my body feels it as well; knees, elbows, feet, hands, stomach, etc. It's wierd because the left side of my body is generally more tense than the left side.
Help!

a while back i noticed mainly my neck, shoulders and arms were always (most of the time) tense. when i think about it i just try to relax my body more IMO its kind of like breaking a bad habit?!?! in my case i think it had something to do with stress or anxiety......

good posture, relaxation exercises and several daily stretching sessions will help. should anyway, if not, see a doctor.

dude, look up some relaxation exercises. Tense the muscles then let them go and breathe deeply, it will restore the erngy flow in the body.

If you are more tense on one side than the other, I would recommend a visit to a chiropractor. Not everyone gets results, but all of my experiences have been great. A good chiro will also discuss your habitual misalignment issues (such as slouching, carrying heavy bags on one side, favoring a weak knee, etc...) and make recommendations for correcting those habits.

Ya, you should see a chiropractor. Or look up yoga/meditation. Go to a doctor first though, hopefully you don't have sculliosis.

I do menial forms of yoga/meditation. There's no way I'd be able to go to a chiropractor; let's just say I don't have the "resources". But just so everyone knows, it gets better every day, so I don't need empirical science (chiropracty) to help me acheive my goals!

Good! If it gets better every day without the aid of "empirical science," then soon you will not need to use your computer (science) to ask for help on the internet (science) so that others can post advice using their computers (science).

I have it in the neck, shoulders, trapezius muscles, jaw, etc... that area. It's anxiety related for sure. Do you experience anxiety?
If it is once side, like Veritas said, your back may be out of alignment and those muscles are trying to compensate.

I have trigger points of tension throughout my body as well, and I find that those spots are where stress and various repressed emotions are 'stored.' Releasing the emotional stress often helps relieve the tense points in the body, and vice versa. Yoga is great. So is massage, acupuncture and chiro. Just breathing, stretching and releasing stress and negative emotions is really helpful as well.

Would you recommend an erotic massage?

Depends on where that tension is at?
