I haven't been, but I have the same problems. I wrecked my car 2 years ago where I messed my back up, broke my neck, and some other things. I have asked around, and even asked my doctors because they won't do anything about it as far as pain management goes or anything...They said there are some good ones, but what they can do is very minimal. Usually if they manage to fix it up you will have to come back to see them again. You also run the risk of them messing it up even worse which could lead to surgery.
Consult a doctor, and see if your injuries are fixable by a chiro. The chiro would say oh yea I can fix it just lay down here, and I'll fix you right up...Which isn't always the truth. The doctor can take a few xrays, twist you around a bit, and do his thing first.

I've never been, but all the people I know that go to chiropractors go often, FWIW.

Get ready to make a visit every month...Maybe even twice a month sometime. My friends dad is one, and he does a decent job, but even his wife comes back every few weeks.

Physical manipulation of the body such as massage therapy and physical therapy can produce benefits and help with pain and other ailments.
Beyond this, chiropractors do nothing and are worse than pharmaceutical companies ("come back once a month for an adjustment"). They are dangerous because they combine known medical knowledge with pseudoscience.

Exactly. I worked as a receptionist for one. Fuckers had such nice houses, so well do to. I asked them about becoming one and they gave me all this bollocks about"years of training, not everyone can do it".
Bahh, It's massage with menthol oil, lying, overpriced massage with very expensive menthol oil, but still a massage at the end of the day. I have more respect for psychotic drug dealers who don't have pretensions about what they are doing, or prostitutes.
Needless to say I was sacked for "professional differences"

i swear by chiropractors. the unfortunate thing is that im moving next week and i will have to find a new chiropractor, as the one i have been going to for 3 years now will be too far to travel to. i was in a car accident before i started going to him, and he fixed me up in no time, i also had a bad case of "military neck" or something like that, where my spine in my neck area was not curved as it should be, it was perfectly straight, fixed that too. my back feels so much better now that i go once a month for an adjustment. i also injured my back about 2-3 months ago, he helped me deal with the pain and recovery of that as well.
if youve never gone to one, i suggest you try it out.

it takes a long time to get a degree as a chiropractor. my dr. went to school for nearly 10 years before he could practice. and youre damn right they make good money and are well to do, they paid their dues. $100K in school loan debts and years of schooling warrant making good money.
anyone who says that chiropractors do nothing, has never been to one. at least not a good one. and obviously as with ANYTHING there will be some bad apples in the bunch.

chiropractors are great. who ever said its pseudoscience is full of shit. the whole theory behind it is that the nervous system is essential to healing. if the nerves ever become pinched by vertebrae, then the body can't communicate as well through that certain nerve. this creates an imbalance which in turn causes pain and sickness. it is definantly not a massage. they will literally 'pop' your back into place.

I have wasted a lot of money on their useless treatments over the years. Now I save it and I retired early.

There aren't many back injuries that can be just thrown back in place. If that were the case don't you think it would be a more readily available treatment?? In the sense that all doctors would do it at least.
There are serious risks when messing with it. Your spine houses some of the most important nerves to your body...One mistake and you can end up paralyzed or dead. I broke my neck, and one more bad mistake on my end could kill me or paralyze me. Do you think I'm going to put it into some chrios hands??? Fuck no.

my neck is already under alot of stress. my muscles spasm and my head swings side to side in many directions and cracks/pops, and i dont think enough blood is getting to my brain. i already knew that they came with some risk, i think i wont risk it.

The objective studies and data always turn out to be something like this:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/373735?ordinalpos=22&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum
i have firsthand experience that they work. my dr. doesnt massage. he has a massage therapist there for that.

for the more serious problems, such as mine, it wasnt just a "pop" and , oh, well, youre all better! it was a process of going for like 6 months.. twice weekly for a month. and then once a week for 5 months. and then down to once a month.
chiropractic medicine has been around for a few thousand years and has proven itself in asia long before it came here. i trust it. it helped me alot, and there are many more like me out there.

Double blind study > first-hand experience
You realize thats what the placebo effect is right? It effects your first hand experience.

placebo doesnt move my spine. im going to to see him one last time on monday, i could get before and after copies of the x-rays if you like.
i dont really care if someone wants to believe it works or not. it worked for me, i know other people it has helped and it has a long and proven history. take it however you want.

My mum was telling me the surgery she had done on her neck was because of some snap happy quackopractor.
So, lesse pros and cons of selling drugs versus chiropractise.
Drugs Pro: * It's not a practise, you know what you're doing or you don't. * The drugs I'd sell don't kill people. The drug dealers that sell those drugs, their clients know it'll fuck them up. * Real, genuine relief * Lots of money. Thankyou war on drugs! * Lots of drugs * Respect and admiration Con: * Police don't like you * Other drug dealers don't like you * Self righteous people don't like you * crazy customers * stabbings.
Quacking Pro: * Lots of money * Respect and admiration * Clients mostly leave feeling better. That's genuine, right? * Plenty of money to afford those "You broke my fucking spine, I can't walk and am permenantly incontinent. Burn in hell fucker" lawsuits * You can call yourself doctor, but you'll never be as cool as Dr.Dre. Con: * You're a fucking quack * Righteous indignation from those that you kill and maim "Fixing their bones" * You're a fucking quack * Really expensive quack school * You're a fucking quack * People dying at your practise. That it's a "practise" is not enough to turn people away. Bet they'd reconsidered when they can't walk or are paralyised from the neck down. * You're a fucking quack * You push your shit quackery on kids. That's not fucking cool. Dealers that do that promptly get stomped, and spat on. * you're a fucking quack who needs to be reminded often you're a fucking quack, because the ten years of quack school wasn't enough.
