Best descision of my life
    #7986206 -

I recently got really fed up with one of my long time best friends.
This friend really abused our friendship for years, on so many levels, and i always put up with it for some strange reason. He was also a long time painkiller addict, and it was difficult seeing one of my best friends be a slave, but i knew in my heart that he deserved it.

A couple nights ago, after a very long day he pulled some of the usual bullshit and i just lost it. I went into a rage blackout, but i remember advancing towards him in front of my friends house very late at night. I slumped him in the temple with all of my strength (according to my friends watching, i don't remember exactly) and he hit the pavement completely lights out. The next thing i remember was sitting on the pavement, with my closest friends around me. They told me that he stumpled to his car and drove off, popping a tire on a sewage drain. They were angry at this person also, but not to the same extent as i have. To this day none of us have talked to him, but he has supposedly stopped using painkillers alltogather. I wish to never speak to this person again, for i know he is an extremely negative influence on anyone he comes in contact with in all aspects of life. At the same time, i know that i gave him the reality check he needed to overcome addiction and in some strange way i feel that i have helped him more than he knows. I know i am a far better person than he could ever hope to be.

Sometimes I have second thoughts about my actions - i am not a violent person by nature. I keep to myself and am totally carefree under normal circumstances, but when confronted i surprise myself with how much primal rage i am capable of. My philosophy remains - if you want beef, come get it.

Haha... fo' sho'. I'm super passive as well, yet that is what makes me dangerous if I am pushed to my snapping point...

It's a strange story... I guess we don't know how else to respond but with sarcasm.

Can you give an example of what kind of response you were hoping for?

"You made the right decision."

"You made the wrong decision. Heres why. "

I don't think its unreasonable to expect rational responses. Its more of a target range here than anything. Why do those who troll these forums feel the need to be sarcastic and negative? I don't understand.

I suppose the responses yielded an interesting topic in the end anyway. I'm genuinely interested in the thought process that goes into responses obviously intended to provoke. Whats the point?

I think you were right in letting go of your friend, but kind of acted like a bitch about the whole ordeal. You think too highly of yourself too.
