hey help with id

hey i found some shrooms the about a inch and a half long yellow stem redish orange top and yellow spores not gills i found them in my back yard in fl are they any good

Dude, that description was horrible. Please read Mr. Mushrooms post about Identifying Shrooms. I'm guessing you mean "spongy gills" by saying "yellow spores not gills." If that's what you mean then, like MM said, they're Boletes, not active, not good.

As mentioned above, they sound like boletes. If, instead of gills, the underside of the cap is covered with small tubes which can be separated easily from the cap (try using your thumb) then it is a bolete.

Boletes are, fortunately, one of the easiest and safest groups of potential edible mushrooms for beginners. All of the poisonous or inedible boletes have one or more of the following:

- red or orange tubes or tube mouths
- bruise blue
- taste bitter or peppery

If it has none of the above, cut them in half vertically and see if you beat the maggots to the food. If not, return them to the habitat. If you did, then you can eat them. Many of the boletes are among of the best tasting wild mushrooms. At worst, you may find you don't care for that particular species.

One final tip for pot hunting (looking for edibles to eat). When first trying a new species, eat just a small amount. If you're allergic or you made a mistake you'll end up being less sick. If you have no problems after 24 hours, go for it. When you try a new one out, cut the mushroom in half vertically and save half in the refrigerator. If you get sick you can show the actual mushroom you ate to the people in the emergency room. It helps a lot when they can be sure you didn't eat a poisonous mushroom and can look for other reasons (allergy?) why you're sick.

To add to his advice.. Always get a positive ID and BE FUCKING CAREFUL. A trip to the morgue or a trip to the hospital is a trip no one wants..
