A Persian Proverb
    #792271 - 08/02/02 08:37 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

Found this to be fitting for this message board
and some interchanges I have witnessed here:

A Persian Proverb

He who knows not,
And knows not that he knows not,
Is a fool ~ shun him.
He who knows not,
And knows that he knows not,
Is a child ~ teach him.
He who knows,
And knows not that he knows,
Is asleep ~ wake him.
He who knows,
And knows that he knows,
Is wise ~ follow him.

Peace to Everyone

The only person you should be following is yourself. There is no "master" who knows more than you, you simply have to uncover the knowledge you hold within.

like most proverbs it's simplistic.

So, he who knows not is either a fool or a child
and he who knows is either asleep or wise?

To be wise I must know? and know that I know?

In that case I would not want to be wise, I would want to have the mind of a child and know that I know not.

Nobody's reality is identical on a daily basis. Thus, all aspects of the
proverb can apply. Simplistic yet complex, if you really think about it.

Peace to Everyone
