Hmm what can you do? If you're the rugged type you'd have shot the winged rat with an airgun, but its best to just make this into a Wile E Coyote vs Roadrunner thing and try ingenious and elaborate ways of getting rid of the animal. This may even become fun.

How about making your gutter smell really bad? You could spray it with a toilet aerosol or in another way create a lingering stink alien to the animal. If it's a woodpecker it probably thinks its a good place to drill a nest, so you need to convince him of the contrary. Making the place stink when you're on its surface might do the trick.

Or try some woodpecker repellant, I don't think it works very well, but it's available.
