definately wont work. now pure psilocybe in salt form on the other hand has a higher melting/boiling point than even THC.

I get a small buzz from them for a few minutes, but your alot bett off just eating them...
Prolonged heat is what can kill-off the psilocybin, but with a quick burst of flame there is enough to catch enough buzz off it to determine that it's not placebo.
I used to think and preach the same thing the people above say, untill I tried it...
I will agree with them that you're alot better off just eating them, but I can no longer endorse that you can't get some buzz off smoking the mushroom...
Can anyone back me up on this, or do I have to be portrayed as the lone, proud-standing idiot?

i've tried it a couple of times because the people with the weed did it and i wanted to smoke. it made us all laugh for about 5 mins. i did it other times. but i think its a waist.

Momeone said a lot of this smoking shrooms talk is from Carlos Castenada's books. He talks about smoking "Don Juan's mushroom mixture." I have only read the second book, A Separate Reality, and the first time I read it I thought Castenada said he smoked the mushrooms with other plants (Datura is one of them) but the second time I read it I realized I was mistaken:
"Don Juan's procedure to utilize the mushrooms was to let them dry into a fine powder inside a small gourd. He kept the gourd sealed for a year and then mixed the fine mixture with five other dry plants and produced a mixture for smoking in a pipe."
"The process of 'smoking' consisted of ingesting the fine mushroom powder, which did not incinerate, and inhale the smoke of the other five plants that made up the mixture."
Even though it's fictional, I don't think Castenada ever said he even actually smoked them. Maybe he did in his other books.

Smoking shrooms does give you buzz. I was out of pot one time so I had this bright idea to smoke some eq's. I smoked like a gram and got like a little weed high for about 5-10 min. and then it was just gone and i was left with a little headache. I dont think its worth the nasty tasting smoke at all. I know I wont be trying that again.

I think that little high you get is just what happens when you inhale smoke made from burning mushrooms. One time I smoked some Kava root to see what would happen and I got a 'buzz' like you describe. Probably the same high you'd get if you bonged some sawdust. CO2 poisoning I think someone called it. Trust me, whatever that high is from it's not from burnt psilocybin.
