I know that the generic way to take mushrooms is by eating them or making tea (or other such preparations), but is there anybody here who actually just rolls them into a doobie and smokes them?
I've heard conflicting reports on this issue... some people have smoked shrooms and supposedly had results, other people got nothing. Are there any guru's on this method here?
Just for everyone's curiousity, in the "Don Juan" books, Don Juan himself smokes a mixture of 5 things in his pipe... one is sage, the other is some kind of shroom, the rest are unidentified.

One of my friends that knows a lot about shrooms told me that smoking shrooms is very bad for your lungs, i forget the scientific explanation, but he knows what hes talking about so i believe him. I know people say that smoking shrooms gets you high, but what a waste, id rather just eat em and have a trippy time.

For the most part people say it does shit or gets small effects. Either way the least economical way to use shrooms (if it even works) would be to smoke them. You would use large amounts to get small effects for a short amount of time.
And the smoke would smell like shit nad be hard on the body.

Same here, I asked people if they'd ever tried it and the majority thought it was a waste. I have to say I agree like has been said countless times before why would you want smoke them anyway, you might aswell just eat the buggers

after seeing longtime friends a while back they started talking about "boats" -cigarettes dipped in formaldehyde. I sent her an email with some info about formaldehyde and "pcp" form erowid, she quickly stopped after reading it. Thank god. The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me.

maybe smoking shrooms works, but it does not work nearly as well as eating them so you are wasting them by smoking them.

I've heard of smoking mixtures with Aminta .. and that they can be quite effective, never personally tried it

My cat smoked them before, once (three bowls if I remember correctly). He got very low level effects (tracers and color intensification). The only reason he did this was because his friends and him were down to their last mushroom and you know how cats don't want to exclude anyone. So they passed it around and everyone reported similar effects.
*sidenote: the cats were watching the movie, Kung-Pow, at the time. I highly, highly suggest that you never ever do this. Watching some guy kung-fu fight a cow just has too many open-ended questions attached to it for someone whose mind is calculating any and all possibilities.

I smoked shrooms once with weed. I laughed like a crazy more than i would have if i only smoked weed but I think it was a waste of shrooms and it's bad for your lungs. It's better to eat them

Smoking shrooms might not be as useless as many posters might lead you to believe. Psilocybe Cubensis carries, along with psilocybine, elements of tryptamines. These chemicals are not orally active. Smoking, although damaging to the overall indolic content that makes it across the blood brain barrier, allows the activation of these additional chemicals, giving you a "trip" that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. "Better" and / or "worse" are subjective assesments, I'll just say it's different. I'd also advise you to only do such experiments if you have a lot of caps to spare, as you'll get a stronger trip by simple oral ingenstion.
And yes, when in the Netherlands I often can be found rolling spliffs of damiana, blueberry (from the noon), (hotel dried) cubensis and MDMA.

What about the spores? I have a feeling you will be sucking in spores that don't get lit all the way. I bet your immune system can take them out but just the thought of myco colonizing your lungs while you deal with a weird smoked shroom trip doesn't sound fun.
