so I have three 24-inch cuttings of pedro..3 of which have roots on the bottom. My question is, is it too late for me to replant the pedro in a pot w/ dirt? The cactii has been sitting in my closet for a week or two. And if it's not too late how big of pots should I get and what kind of dirt? help a brotha in need!

This thread was moved from The Pub.
Reason: Questions about cactus grows belong in the Ethno Garden.

Excellent, then you know which side should go in the soil.

If they're still alive it by no means is too late. If it doesnt work you can always cut them to stars and dry them.

They'll live. A closet is a bad place because moisture buildup coulds cause mold, but i take it it didn't.

I'd say use pots of about a gallon capacity and plant the cutings about five inches deep. Use square plastic flower pots because later on when you have more and more of them, they are easier to put in a small space. Let's say use pots 8x8 inches square and deeper than they are wide. You might have to re-pot them later on, but this kind of pot goes a long way.

General purpose cactus soil is best, but I myself have success using quality potting soil for houseplants. You want a good brand that is composted well and which stays aerated well, so doesn't shrink much in the first weeks. If you grow weed, the same soil will do fine, but hold the fertilizer.
I water my Pedro's weekly, and occasionaly I put some common houseplant fert in the water, once every season or so. They thrive in my windowsill. You can expect the weight of your san pedros to double every year. In the beginning this doesn't amount to much but once you have a combined weight of 25lbs of cactus next year it'll be 50 and then 100. Give it some years and you'll have all-you-can-eat mescaline.

When replanting do u transfer like a mj plant and try not to disturb the cactuses roots or just carfully pluck it from the dirt.

And now it is a 5 year old thread! Please pay attention to which you reply too.
As to repotting, unpot and remove all the old soil, then let the cactus sit for a few days so any damage can heal. Then repot into a well draining dry soil, and don't water for at least a few days.
