Make yourself what you want to be.

Last year I was in a very similar situation to the one you're in now.  It gets frustrating going to college where every fuckhead thinks he's a fucking bohemian. 

All you can do is live how you want to live and not give a fuck about other people.  If you are a truly unique person than those who know you will realize that you're more than just a hippie, and those who don't know you can go fuck themselves.  Until the get to know you of course.;)

I agree they just portrayed us hippies badly, but its all in fun. We have to show people that we are not stereotypes, and that there is more to our culture than drugs.

Just be who you are, don't dilute yourself down just because you don't want people laughing at you.
You should be happy with whoever you are, not trying to make sure everyone else is happy with who you are.

Haha yes I bathe regularly. About once per day and i wash my hair every time. So as far as bathing goes I guess i'm not a hippie.
It's like what guruu was saying. There's going to be so many other people there who think that they're hippies and bohemians and stuff that I just don't want to fall into that category and become 'that hippie guy over there". Oh well, im suprised this thread got so popular!

First thing..."hippies" do not exist anymore.

Secondly, if you dont want to be labeled as some granola trustafarian type, dont wear tye died shirts, dont dred your hair, dont wear hemp accessories, dont play hasky sack, dont date granola looking chicks. its pretty easy.

You will find many people who share your view about liking drugs but not wanting to dress like a hippy.

myself and pretty much all my friends in college were how you describe yourself, hell we all even listened to the dead and I must have seen Phish a dozen times in the mid and late 90's. but if you saw us walking down the street you would never assume so.

i love that episode.
keep in mind matt and trey are pretty smart guys. they understand that nothing is sacred.

last night when i saw it on i spaked up a fat bowl and laughed my ass off. i used to have a 40 somthign co worker at a garden store who would poke fun at me all day using jokes from that episode.
annoying , meh, a little but i dont mind.

hes 40 and bald working 2 dead end jobs. i was 17 stoned and interested in one thing. music


they do bring up the good point about be lazy, selfish, and or just too fucking serious about yourself.

steryotypes make us laugh for a resson.
dont feel afraid because of what others might think of you.
just be
and stuff...
