advice on best way to cut from my pedro

So my 21st is coming up and i was thinking of celebrating with pedro rather than the typical alcohol binge. I have a pedro that is basically two pedros joined at the base, both heads about a foot tall. now one of the heads was 2 feet high 4 months ago (if you catch my drift). I just lopped the top off the sucker and have let it regrow since. Now on top of its beheaded half it has a skinny pup about six inches tall from the first cut. I hope this is making visual sense. If not i'll get a pic and post it.

My question, If/when i decide to take another cutting (its only been about 3 or 4 months since I last cut from this cactus so i might just let him grow more) what would be the best way to go about doing it? Cut the side that has the new growth at the base, should I cut the other side off the top? I plan on letting what is left grow so keep that in mind. Is it best to cut off the top like I did the first time (without even thinking about it) or is it best to cut off the base, consume the bottom half and replant the top?

Whatdaya say?

Forgot that i already have pics of my pedro up. Check out this thread and just imagine it a little taller and with the new growth from cut half.
