Air pump question *DWC help*

So I've got this idea to set up a Deep Water Culture hydro system. But I have a couple questions.

1) what size netpots are needed? - Does it really matter? Since most of the roots penetrate the pot (and i've seen plants grown in cups before)

2) netpots are found at hydro stores only right?

3) when getting an air bubbler how many of these need to go in the DWC bucket?
I want to have about 4 plants going and I was wondering if I needed four separate pumps.
Also I have seen people insert about 4 netpots equally spaced into the lid of a rubbermaid bin and use that as the DWC vessel housing.

4) If a rubbermaid bin was used to house four net pots, how many air stones would be needed to oxygenate the root system?
^ Does this method work well? On one of the techniques I've seen the OP only used 2 of the netpots, I'm wondering if the roots would tangle amongst themselves and eventually limit the oxygen flow causing problems?

i don't like dwc myself but it has been used and works for some, i like top drip or ebb and flow systems!!

OK first the net pot needs to be big enough to hold your plant upright so if you want to grow a 3 foot bush then a 3 in net pot is prolly small, i have used cups in the place of net pots many times and it works just fine, a friend of mine uses pantie hose and a cup with the bottom cut out and it holds the growing medium great and the roots grow right through the pantie hose .

next you don't need 4 pumps, 1 will be fine. if you are growing 4 plants i would recommend getting a 2 outlet air pump and 2 of the biggest air stones that you can fit
