Could switching chambers cause aborts?
    #775583 - 07/25/02 09:14 AM (22 years, 8 months ago)

I recently birthed 4 1/2 pint cakes in a very small (6") terrarium and gor 1 flush out of them. It was during the second flush in which I moved them to a much larger (10 gal.) terrarium. All the primordia aborted. Now the third flush is on and I beleive they're aborting as well. Could I possibly case them in order to get at least a little mileage out of these cakes?

Instead of breaking up the cake since it has already birthed. Just put it in a pan and case it whole. The layer may prove supportive and keep the flushes coming. If you have had two pinn set aborts, then your new chamber is missing vital elements nessesary for fruiting. Check your humidity(90%+), Temperature(72-76), Air flow(fanning everyday), light source(initiation of fruiting). If you break up the cake at this stage in the game it may be too tramatic for the Mycelium , and it will give up. But I have heard of some success.bluhoney

The temp is at a steady 75F and the rh is 90%+, I fan it at least once a day. The only problem I see is that it doesn't get that much light, I've heard only a few minutes is enough.
Thanks for the casing info, I'll give it a shot.
