mkay...I have done some exhaustive research on drying my friends. I?ve got damp rid and containers. I just don?t mesh. I don?t have big mason jars(per moe?s lazy ass tek). My wife won?t let me user her hose either. Anyway I have a big flush and I am improvising, as we all do. Take a lookie at what I have and tell if you think this is a proficient set up.
Is it cool to paper towels below or on top???

see my little side containers?

You can see the paper towel is getting a little wet.
any help or revisions in this set up would be most appreciative.

You container looks OK, it should be covered though. The plates need help. The damp-rid is drying the air also. They should be in an air tight container with the damp-rid otherwise it isn't as effective and will take much longer.

Thanks...I took the container lids off just for the picture.
Should I not bother them for 48 hours or should I check on em every 8-10 hours and replinish the damp rid as it gets encrustalated and hard?
My main problem (not that it is a problem) I have too may to dry. I have dried 4-10 at time with no problem in a smaller container(more airtight).
Thanks again for the advice cheers

looks alright. Only thing i would say is it's less trouble to air dry them most of the way, then add the desicant.

Nice Flush............Get your shrooms off the Damp-Rid... the Chloride will get soaked into the wet paper towels and possibly contaminate your crop..I usually try to air dry first in front of a fan if possible...then place in containers that I have constructed with screening to keep the shrooms up off the Damp-Rid to get them cracker dry............Again Nice Crop!

Shaw...Ahaa! That is what I was looking for..So air dry for 12-18 hours. Yes?
and let the dessicant do the rest of the work?
I just don't want rotten, slimy guys.
A little story: When I was college I picked a bunch of guys and had my fun and I always had extra...I didn't know that I could dry em and keep for long periods of time. So we always gave em out and ate em up. One day I found some in the back of my car half slime and half wilted. yucky..thinking "must not waste these" So I wiped off the slime and ate em anyway. I have a cast iron stomach. Desperate situations call for desperate measures.

I much agree with shaw- Air dry them first just sitting on some paper towels (the more spread out they are the better), after 24-48 hours goes by, depending on their size, they'll be ready for the dessicant. At this point, the damp-rid will get them cracker dry in no time and you won't have any problems with the paper towel getting wet or any of that. By the way, that's quite a nice "first flush". Where did all those little fun guys come from? (cake, casing, etc) That's a first flush to be proud of.

My friend air dries his bad boys for 24 hours and then puts in the dessicant chamber for 72 hours and they are cracker dry every time.
Awesome flush by the way! After you eat some be sure to tell them I said hello and will be back soon.
