Pink Shit

Today I looked at two jars and they had pink stuff inside them-I threw them both out. Just curious if anyone has had this problem or if anyone knew what kind of contamination it was.

Possibly one of these. Neurospora (pink mold), Geotrichum (Lipstick mold), Trichothecium (another pink mold). Never had it, but sorry to hear it happened to you. Good luck with the rest.

well I know it isn't lipstick mold-that seems to bit a bit more reddish. The whole cake turned pink and is very liquidy on the inside. Sorry about being so vague but i can't be much more descripitive than that.
