are you in Japan now?? - I know where you can get mushies in Tokyo but they are Hawiian and now Spanish Apache are available also. I don't know their psilocybin content - however I can tell you that a dose of the former (sold in 0.5g bags) is more than enough to keep you 'thinking' for quite a while (cos the place is so mad!!) and my friends that are in Tokyo presenly inform me that the Spanish ones are even stronger!!!

hi, Mr. Crisper,

First off the P. subaeruginascens is in both Tokyo and a variation is from java.

The information you want reagarding Psilocybe argentipes can be found in twop journals and one book.

The journals publications are as follows:

Yokoyama, K. 1973. A new hallucinogenic mushroom, Psilocybe argentipes. Transactions of the Mycological Society of japan vol. 17:349.

The one on the chemical analysis can f be found in the following journal:

Koike, Yutaka wt al.,1981. Isolation of psilocybin from Psiloscybe argentipes and it's determination in specimens of some mushrooms. Journal of Natural Products (Formerly Lloydia) vol. 44(3):362-365.

Further info can be found in The Genus Psilocybe by Gaston Guzman, 1983.

Also how can anyone here tell you they are low potency, I doubt if anyone here is qualified to say that since I doubt that anyone here ever ate them.

THose articles can be viewedd free at any University library which carries those journals. Since they are common journals in big city Universities.

And Mushie girl,
I am curious as to what "Spanish Apache" Mushrooms are since no Apache ever used psilocybine containing mushrooms and neither did the Spanish who abhored mushrooms to began with.

This appears to be some idiots interpretation of a strain of P. cubensis.
and I have to say the name incites in me a hostility towards whoever came up with that shit of a name.

Anyway have a shroomy day.

mj

hi mushy girl
thanks for the info, im well into scoring mushies from the shops in tokyo.
usually they market them as "mexican" and "hawaiin". along with other fine legal products like peyote and ibogaine.
usually the "mexicans" are p.cubensis, but the last ones i got had come from switzerland and were labelled "stroparia caeruescens", still sold to me as "mexicans"
the hawaiins are usually a copelandia variety, yep 0.5g will make you think, 2.5g will make it stop, no worries
i really want to get out and sample the local product, and get some sporeprints, first i wanna know if it would be worth the effort, so thanx for the references mjshroomer.
a head shop, called concious dreams near shinjuku, has some dried samples of a japanese mushroom they claim to be psychoactive, but they also say its very weak and not worth taking, hence buy our imported gear, so i assumed, naively perhaps, they had tried it.
anyway i will hit the library.
peace

...What did you say?

Do you mean
"Kore wa Nihon no take ga suki da yo"?

BTW, I bet the "Spanish Apache" nonsense was a poor English translation of Japanese words "Mexican Indian" or something to that effect.

Does anyone happen to know the types that are available in Osaka, and where I can go to find them??
does anyone know of a site that I can go to that states that shrooms are, in fact, legal here?
thanks!
