[Updated 20 Dec 2007]
Mycena viscidocruenta

Cyptotrama asprata

A small troop of Mycenas

I don't know, guessing Chlorophyllum (lepiota) hortense

Assorted stinkhorns, Aseroe rubra

Small somethings.

Either some kind of fungus or someone's cheese doritos / vodka mix (this is on a trail between 2 pubs)

A really beautiful brass coloured mushroom. Looks psilocybian in shape eh?

Don't know, but its big!

More big mushrooms (different species)

Beautiful white Lepiota, Volvarella, Amanita, i don't know...

Nice, big, agaricus

The next mushrooms are back into the suburban bush... These ones were everywhere, i'm guessing Lepista, russula..

Look at this stunner... Russula lenkunya? not sure.

.. and this one, in .. my front yard! growing from eucalypt chips. Nice purple tint to the edges.

P.S I second this thread by calling for more cube and cope finds from Northern NSW and QLD!

I don't know how common they are cactu, it's the first time i've seen any of these species. I think Australia shared a lot of the same types of plants with Central and South America because we used to be joined together as Gondwanaland. Some Mycenas like Mycena austrororida occur only in Australia, New Zealand and... Chile! go figure.
yeah thanks... i don't know why but there are small pockets of bush all within 15 mins of the city centre that seem to be a haven for colourful mushrooms. I think it has something to do with the development protecting them from bushfires or something.
My favourites are still these though. But they pop up in the winter only.
More common though are these.

Great shots, especially of the second one. Never knew that Sydney had such crazy mushrooms, especially so close to the city.

This IS the time for mushrooms like Copes and Cubes up north. I've no idea why that thread was locked.

Its Myxomycota, a slime mold.
