altered states

there have been quite a few posts here as regard to mind machines but i'd like to know from anyone who has one, how well do they work at helping induce deep trance states and stuff. It seems that all most people talk about is the visuals you get with the lights going at high frequencies- plz post your experiences here

well, i think first be specific as to what you mean..
do you mean a level of being where insight is easily obtained?
where one feels connected with existence?
where one is tripping?
where one is calm and meditative, centered?
or a journey?
