OP:  don't let the established members get you down - you haven't joined enough forums.

you can't just come out and say "hi i'm new" - especially when your post is full of stereotypes and COMPLETLY LACKS PUNCTUATION.  whenever i join a new board, i try to keep the first few posts as inconspicuous as possible - that way i can get a feel for the community before i make someone pissed off at me :-D

edit:  p.s. that was constructive criticism, use it to your benefit.

It's kind of like an initiation of sorts. It is a test to see if you are open minded enough to stick around and discover that this is a great place. Stick around and you'll see. Leave in a huff of anger, and you'll never know what you missed.

You will also find that 1960s peace and love cliches do not go over particularly well here; I think a lot of people here would like to leave certain stereotypes behind. I think that's where the sarcastic welcome came from.

I can't hate on anyone for being friendly though, and I'm sorry you didn't get the warmest of welcomes. I could not resist making a comment. I hope you don't take it personally.
