Phoenix A.Z?
#7926520 - 01/24/08 08:42 PM (16 years, 8 days ago) |
|

Hello? Anything *cool* in Phoenix A.Z? I moved down here for a ^j^o^b. But, I'm really paranoid about posting now. One can link to my account from google, mainly due to me posting my stupid project in my signature. And it doesn't take a whole lot to link me to this account, because I put my stupid project all over my resume.
Anyway, peace out guys.
Right now my system is 100% clean, so what the fuck am I worrying about?
The thing is, my place of employment seems kinda of cool, but I don't want to push my luck, I really like my new job. They definitely haven't mentioned anything about drug testing. Haven't said a thing about it. This place is a bunch of computer people, and you know how they are. Most computer people are really cool about it.
But, see you guys later. Adios!

I work at Scottsdale Community College, and the university. Currently I live in the east side, but my heart resides in the west.

We should all get together, at a bar, and have drinks, and the rain sucks, and I'm unemployed, but I have money, so lets have a beer some time, all of us, or some of us, at a bar.

I have always had bad experiences with Glendale and Peoria cops.
I had a dective in Peoria who really had it in for me. He came to me once on the street in disguise (long hair wig) with a fist full of money asking to score crack. Me and my friend were like "Hell no, get the fuck outta here". He was obviously not cool. Fast forward a few years when I got busted with pot, he shows up at the arrest scene. I didnt recognize him but he told me that was him with long hair. I was like WTF?! He would also harass my brother from time to time, and miraculously showed up when I got pulled over for speeding.
God I have so many stories with the cops in Peoria, I could go on all night....

Yeahhh, fellow AZ Shroomerites!
Peoria cops are assholes. I haven't had any bad experiences with Glendale cops...they've all been pretty chill with me.
Symmetry, there's not much to do here at all. A lot of good hiking though. You should check out some of the deserty areas in NW Phoenix.

Yeah, Mnt Lemon is pretty ridiculous... go south of it all the way, then come around and hit it going west (so the east side) thats the prettiest way to date for myself.
Wrestler_Az and company lives down in Tucson and is good company, and also a good guide if you need one.

Ive only spent 1 day in the Catalina's and plan to go there in the spring and hike for a couple of days.
I will definitely have to get to know some people here better. Im always going out hiking alone.
The last of the pictures in my gallery are from Tortilla Flats another Awesome place
Im really looking forward to going up to Sedona/ Flagstaff and doing some Mushie hunting as well.

well nice to meet you finally sir
I dont do much of much of anything these days, I am a bit of a pillbug, but nothing to shake a stick at.
A friend of the family was one of the big MJ growers here in the seventies, went to jail through most of the mid eighties for the shit.
I try to stay away from MJ, I always attract raw attention with it.

I looked around the cave a little bit, i think we're thinking of the same cave, does it go through to somewhere or not? im a little claustrophobic to be crawling around in caves

though i cant promise you ill find the way out when it comes time... its easy to get turned around in there.
you were there 3 months before I was, I was just there at the beginning of January, I wanted to do some snowboard at Mt.Lemmon while I was there for the day, which didnt leave any time for caving.
I have a state atlas and landmark all the points ive "conquered,". My next trip being to either Flagstaff forest or way out west to Lake Havasu. Any of places you'd recommend?
Im actually not IN Tucson, but just outside Red Rock right next to Picacho Peak and Picacho State Park. I work at Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Farm sometimes on the weekends

Yeah ive heard that Lake Havasu is party headquarters hell I might even go there for spring break. I moved out here to go to college but havent started yet so I dont really know anyone yet. I think itd be a good way to meet people.
The ostrich farm is pretty sweet plus I get the hookup with ostrich meat and ostrich eggs from time to time.

id definitely be down to check that spot out. im have to grab my atlas out of the car real quick and see if I cant find that on the map.
When I went to Mt. Lemmon I think I went the back way, I went through Oracle.

its like a third of the way to phoenix from tucson, right on the side of the highway. i always though of it as a tourist trap, and in some ways is... but its still pretty cool. worth seeing once anyway.

Im looking at my map now and ive seem to have found it. You remember how far the Pools are? Are they as far as Romero Pass? seems like the entire trial runs along a creek, no?

romero pools/romero pass is pretty much the same thing as far as i know. people use the two different terms to describe the pools interchangeably. from the spot you park the car at the trail head to the pools is about 3 miles if i remember correctly...

Thats not bad at all I dont mind a nice hike especially when the rewards are something that awesome.
You ever been up to Vermillion Cliffs up on the Utah border? Looks like it sits right overtop of Lake Powell.
Arizona is such a beautiful state. Ive lived here a whole 4-5 weeks

unfortunately, the stars are tough to see in a city with this many lights (you have to go outside the city limits before you'll be able to see them)

On the other hand, once you get away from the city and get a little bit of elevation, the viewing is pretty damned good.
