Is THC tolerance predictive of psilocybin tolerance?

Hello! I've been reading these forums regularly for quite a while now, though I've yet to actually procure any shrooms. However, some friends of mine have recently begun growing their own, so I can expect some to be around in about 3 weeks. This leads me to the question: can I expect my initial tolerance to psilocybin to be fairly similar to my initial tolerance to THC? Though I've now built up somewhat of a tolerance through constant smoking, when I first began I was very much a lightweight. The same goes for alcohol. Should I thus expect a small amount of shrooms to go a long way? Have any of you noticed a general trend in your initial tolerance to other drugs? I know that the obvious answer to my question would be to try shrooms with a small dose. The problem is that shrooms are so hard to come by in my area, and I so rarely have 6-8 hours to trip, that when I do get shrooms I would rather take enough to enjoy the experience than to be left wishing for more but having to wait for months to try it again. Any input?:mushroom2:

It sounds like your THC tolerance is only because of frequent use, so I really doubt that you'd have any tolerance built up to a substance you've never consumed before. Just go for a regular first timer dose, split 1/8 dried with a friend.

start with 1gram.  Adjust as necessary.  The only way to know is to try as I don't think that sensitivity to THC necessarily indicates sensitivity to psilocybin.

Take an eighth. If you are open minded enough, and fully embrace this experience, and let it take you where ever it may. Then I believe that you should easily handle this dose. From what Ive seen, if your going to freak out the first time, then that is exactly what is going to happen. But thankfully you should easily be able to pull yourself out of it; if it even happens. Do it with a couple of friends, and you'll have a great time.

It's based on your weight. So if you're skinny, you'll need less of any substance to notice it's effects.

That isn't true at all. LSD dosage has nothing at all to do with weight IME.

I think most drugs are only affected by the receptors in your brain so it doesn't matter if you're fat or skinny, at least for weed and coke because I had fat friends that would get just as fucked up off a little weed.

most assuredly weed tolerance will have no affect whatsoever on trying mushrooms for the first time. but go ahead and smoke some pot while your at it always helps.

I do not think tolerance corresponds the same with different substances. Continued use of mushrooms will build tolerance, but you should have no problem with this as long as you distance your trips. At least space things out a week or so, a month is best, and then tolerance shouldn't be an issue.

There will be no relation to the tolerance of psilocybin with the tolerance of alcohol and thc.  You might be able to drink a six pack no problem but you wouldn't assume you could also drink six cups of coffee right?  So why would you assume so with mushrooms? 

Despite what others have said, I would be conservative for my first dose.  Take half an 1/8th rather than a whole.  You will not be disappointed, I can almost promise you that.  If it turns out that you are sensitive to psilocybin and you take a full 1/8th, you might find yourself in the middle of a shit show.  There is always next time :cool:

a freind i know just got some from ralph and hes about 119 pounds he got 4g and split it 4 ways he ate 1.2 him self and said he lost his mind creepers were the strain
