I'm far from an expert and can only guess. Judging from the color of the print, and the distant, attached gills, I would say its the dung loving psilocybe, psilocybe coprophila. I've never found this mushroom, so I'm not going by personal experiance. Did they bruise at all? Psilocybe Coprophila rarely stains blue. You didn't mention what state you found these in?

Where did you find these (like what part of the country)? The description sounds like they could be psilocybe coprophila but I can't tell from the pics.------------------ $H@M@&

Hi The shrooms are Psilocybe coprophila.have a shroomy day. They are not psychoactive. next time take a correct piture and move back until the shrooms are focused. Its easier to identify them if you havee clear picture. A close up blurred is no good. but one from a distance which is clear, really helps in identifying them. mjshroomer

I'm not trying to argue with you MJ, but are you sure they're not active. Have you eaten them before? Everything I've read about this mushroom says it weakly active. Of course I'm only speaking from text. If you know they're not active through experiance, I'll take your word for it.The Lizard,

Like I said, they are not psychoactive.Personally tested them about 25-years-ago. Even Paul Stamets lists a lot of mushrooms in his book which are not psychoactive. He did that to legitimize his books so as not to attract too much DEA attention. mjshroomer, That includes some of the Psilocybes and Panaeolus and Strop[harias which Paul renamed into the genus Psilocybe. D Ofr instance, Psilocybe montana and Cyanea are not psychoactive and several others are also not psychoactive. Mj
