Psilocybe coprophila *pic*
    #2925633 - 07/25/04 12:02 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Photo of P. coprophila I found in northwest Arkansas
after a good rain, growing on horse manure. Active?
Not by any reports I've read, but still a nice find,
though the pic could have been better.

Psilocybe coprophila :

and coprophila is not active, that is very correct- around here we call them "m?kkaflein" (flein = liberty caps and m?kka = poo)

That is probably not Coprophila, and Croprophila is very inactive.

As stated in the original post:
"Active? Not by any reports I've read"

A rhetorical question.

As for the identification, it is P. coprophila.

As I said, the picture could have been better,
I was to lazy to bring my SLR, and just grabbed
an El Cheapo brand digi cam that was handy.

Notice the white margin in the immature specimens.
P. coprophila varies in overall color, it may not
match the picture posted by Mystiq_Shaman, but a
quick online search will produce enough photos from
reputable sources that will show many variations.

Looks like Ps. coprophilia to me. And no, they are not active.

Nah, they should drop purple-brown spore prints.
