paths (just a realization)

I've always thought of the path I'm on as a straight road with lots of scenery along the way to and end (or not) that I cannot yet see

for the first time, I realized it as winding, uneven, and definitely not always level. There is no doubling back on the path, despite how much it may seem one has reverted to a previous state (habits, physical/mental condition, etc.). Paths constantly intersect or are intersected by others; sometimes crossing over others' paths many times, or widening with the accompaniment of others and shrinking when walking it alone.

Every time one joins and then leaves our path, a mark is always left on the road from where they entered and exited. Often, other people who have intersected with those around us wander upon the point of an entrance/exit and are able to find one or more of the people [again]

Having wide and narrow paths both have their benefits and downfalls and neither is 'better' than the other; the degree of benefit depends not only on the size of the path, but those within it as thieves, gamblers, and gods all walk with us

I look at this path in a lot of different ways.  In some ways it's all just about the texture of life as we go along, the richness in each moment, and the mental overlap of past moments with the present and the emotional residue that creates. 

On the path, my goal is to learn how to really communicate, to commune with other beings, because I think I am mostly just a mind bouncing off other minds most of the time.  And to learn what it means to be here in the now, which is where it's all unfolding.

And then there's the future, the now that has not yet unfolded.  What will it bring?  What is death?  What is fulfilment, what is love?  What is our place in the cosmos?  Many times we will die on the way to the final end of these strange forms we inhabit, and many times we will be reborn.

the geometry is much more complex.
imagine the trajectory of every molecule of a fog as it enters a city then envelopping every building of the city.
that is more like the path.
all of what happens after all of what happens and all of what happens next....ongoing././.
