Extracurricular Activities
    #7570142 -

welp - i'm applying for an internship program in DC this summer and i am void of extracurricular activities:

While it is (of course) beneficial to have them, I don't feel as though it would hinder my ability to perform in the program. I'm smart, driven, have great grades and better recommendations. I just never got off my ass to join any clubs or programs.

Should I:

a) make some up (and if so, give me ideas as to what)
b) just not list any and pray i still get accepted

EEK! i really want to be accepted to this program.

i think i'd rather, get a good internship - return in the fall to finish my last semester of undergrad, start the MBA program in the spring, get another (better) internship that summer, finish out the MBA program the following fall/spring and then start full time work at a great job the following summer.

that's the plan - and i'm stickin to it.

I wouldn't make up extracurriculars. Not likely, but it could come back to bite you on the ass. There are plenty of ec's on college campuses.

Joins some quick, get on the mailing lists, then put them on your application. Seriously, it takes about 10 minutes to volunteer.

List your hobbies. say you like fishing or biking or basketball or movies, etc. Hobbies are extracurricular activities. If you don't have any, make some shit up.

Belonging to an organization isn't the only way to have an extracurricular activity.

The official definition of their criteria states it as: "involvement in campus and community activities."

I guess i'll walk around the university center tomorrow and see what i can sign up for. I have to write essays galore and track down old teachers for reocmmendation letters, oyeeeeee
