Good luck mate! There is an excellent UK mushroom growers guide. I strongly recommend it. Search here for the UK should find it, or look at the lyceum. Still accurrate. Sainsbury French conserve jar are great as recommended in the guide. And from experience! Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) is in the paint section. Smart Botanics is great.
Good luck with Chaos.

Yup, B&Q is good for most things, the vermiculite should be next to the perlite - I also like their under a pound propagators.

I had the exact same problem with the jars, in the end I found them in Habitat. They are 350 ml so you get more shrooms from each rice cake, but they are pretty expensive - about ?2 each. Hope this helps...

Thanks for all the help.

I have got some jam jars from the super market ?1.25 each (with jam in)thanks to UK mushroom growers guide. I am not sure if they are the right shape, I will be emptying the jam shortly to check it out. Still on the search for the perfect jar though. Habitat's jars are too expensive!!.

Waitrose (Antyewa)?

I am still waiting for the spores!! never mind.

I have used the sainsburys conserve jars. Although a little expensive ?1.30 ish each, they work well. I generally buy my vermiculite from a local garden center, but virtually any DIY shop should do it. I brought my first spore syringe from sohi soho in london for ?20!!!!!. Extortionate!. It worked well though.
After attempting to inocculate further batches of jars from homemade spore syringes
(and failing) i decided to go back and by another one. The spores have not germinated after about 3 weeks and last week I injected about 1ml of homemade spore solution to the jars and growth has been good. Don't buy spores from sohi soho. They don't even refrigerate them.
Good luck UK growers.

I live in Greece but maybe I can help
Do you have the Bon Maman marmalade. It comes
in wide mouth hexagonal jars. They work wonders! (They are also slightly larger than half pints)

Cool

Thanks again!!!

I got 5Kg of brown rice flour for about ?3.50
Sounds bloody cheap to me. I going to use the Sainsburys conserve jars, though I am sure there is a better deal somewhere.
