abig yellow shroom with no gills

i live in K.Y. i found a big yellow shroom with no gills ..greenish yellow print it was growing in moss...What is it?

A little better description will have to be given in order for others to help you.There are only a small handful of users on this board that I would trust for a proper ID (I'm not one of them) A picture would help a great deal.

Did it had a sponge like texture instead of gills ?
If so, it belongs to the boletus family, not active, some are edible, anyway a pic would help.

I would say a Boletus of some sort as well... Before they get the sponge looking thing, there's just a piece of flesh over where the pores would be.

yes it was spongie on the bottom of cap....top of it is now brown on the top of the cap

To get a proper ID of a bolete we need to know details about the stem. Is it smooth, is it rough, does it have a sort of net on the suface (if you see it you'll know what I mean). Was the cap slimy, moist, or dry? A photo of the stem needs to be in good focus and fairly detailed to be useful.

the stem was yellow with something like net on it more like veins ..it was hollow ...the cap was sticky....it staind yellow......i dont know where a cow feild is.only horses but i do know where a field with goats in it...could there be shrooms in it????????
