You know what's worse than being broke?

Being broke when people owe you money.

A good friend of mine, and my brother owe me 200 dollars each, and were supposed to pay me back a while ago (my brother the 21st of last month, and the friend the 15th of this month). I've made it very clear to both of them that I want my money back. My brother doesn't bother me very much, maybe because he's family, maybe because he's 26 with 2 kids and works at McDonald's.

But this bitch, the friend I lent the money to, I'm trying to refrain from getting angry and yelling, but she's pushing it, last week, she got a new cell phone, and dyed her hair, that's 170 right there. I've told both her and my brother that I don't have food, I don't have cigarettes, and I'm having to borrow money from other people to get gas to go to work. They both have food, they both have cigarettes, and they both can get to work, I did not loan this money to them so I could watch them live life with their necessities, while I sit at home broke as fuck on my two days off, wishing I had something to fucking eat other than one flavor of Ramen, which already makes me want to puke.

And get this, before I loaned this girl the money, we were talking about finances and I mentioned to her a little something about my CD I have set aside from myself so I can own a house before I'm 25. Then two days ago, she has the fucking nerve to spill that out in front of 3 people that I hardly know, talking shit that I'm so irresponsible with money, that I have to lock it away from myself.

Yah, I am irresponsible with my money, I've gone through 50,000 since last November, but fuck I have a little somthing to show for it. My "net worth" is about 25,000 with my car and my CD account, I traveled to Ixtapa Mexico for 2 weeks, and I filled an apartment with furniture and other nice items to have in a home, which I all left behind with my ex.

But that's besides the fucking point, at least I'm not in debt to my friends.

I think this has caused me to learn my lesson about loaning people money, but I always try to be a nice guy, I figured it come back to me helping this girl go to college and all.

I have a 'good friend' that owes me over $1000. This is from 2 years ago, when I basically bankrolled the birth of his child.

get this: he calls me up and asks me to be the best man in his wedding... over 8 hours away from where I live. So, like a chump, I agree, because, hey how are you going to turn that down? Apparently he's isolated all his other friends because he owes them all money too.. So me and like 3 other friends of mine were the only people on the groom's side...

but here's the kicker: During the wedding preparations, he told me that some old relative of his had died and left him like 5 figures. So now he's got all this cash, and he's talkin about CD's and mutual funds, but so far has not made any mention of paying me or anyone else back...

the moral of the story is, don't loan people money. Other people, for whatever reason, always seem to value their own money more than yours...

Oh man being broke when someone owes you money is the worst, I had to delay shipping a few times because of that and I shouldve had the money.

why the fuck should I have to ask him for what is mine? He knows whats up. I mean seriously... every time in the past when I've had to borrow from friends, paying them back was priority number 1 as soon as I was flush again. nobody has ever had to ask me for their money back, thats fucked.

but yeah, I'll prolly demand repayment when he's back from his honeymoon... then after that I can write him off like everyone else has. punk

Yeah i made a decision years ago to never lend anyone anymore than 50$. Not that i would lend even that amount out unless i felt it was really important.

Family and best friend are exempt ofcourse but they are good for it.

Lot's of things worse than being broke when someone owes you money.
At least if someone owes you, you have a potential source of income.
Better than owing some one else.

Trust me, when you've been around a while, being broke is not the worst thing in the world.

Fuck I'm so pissed, I told her last night I need 50 dollars, because I noticed she had 80 laying in her purse. She fucking tells me "I can't I need to pay my phone bill". Well I fucking do too. She gets here at 6, I guess I'm going to have to be mean about it, even though I really don't want to. Sometimes I wish I wasn't such a nice guy.
