Kinda looks like a purple lepiota...
    #7376500 -

Habitat- dead leaves on dirt.
Gills - close and free, with a "wavy gill" area near the cap edge, similar to C. molybdites.
Ring free
purplish bruising
dusty purplish scales on cap, purplish spot in center of cap, darkening with age.
about 2.5 inches across
Didn't get a spore print. I can still try if it's absolutely necessary.

The pics are not so good. The mushrooms didn't like the hot car ride home (no A/C in truck) and kinda started to wilt.

I dunked the leaves and base in water, hoping to get it to perk up a bit (I've done that with some mushrooms before), but so far it's looking the same.

It was much lighter colored when fresh. The purple was more of a subtle thing than an outright coloration.

A friend brought me one just like it, only much larger and with yellowish coloration this morning. I'm thinking it's related to C. molybdites, but I don't think it's the same thing. The scales on the cap are more amanita-like and brush off like dust.

If you want to find psilocybin in species that are not yet known to be psychoactive, you should do chemical tests. That way you won't get sick and die all the time.

yeah, that's what I was thinking too... wasn't sure though, as some list the color as reddish brown, and this looked more lilac when fresh.

probably stinks. I'll chuck it.
