Re: Does taking stimulants count as exercise... [Re: AG Tek]

People lose both muscle and fat if they don't eat; however, if you took the proper blocks of protein per day, you wouldn't.

Also, as I mentioned before, stimulants boost adrenaline and norepinephrine, in the same way exercise does. It also causes a minute body load known as muscle fasciculations in a similar way that e aerobics do.

If one took stimulants every other day, as opposed to everyday, then it could be considered beneficial, under the terms of anaerobic exercise. You need to allow your muscles at least 1 day of rest to repair to gain. GHB after a good workout speeds up the repair process; this isn't as available as it once was, so currently they have a similar GVL sold in workout shops.

Some bodybuilders will take meth for a couple days in their "cutting" phase--it's mostly due to water dehydration. shrinks them fat muscles :yesnod:

The intuitive answer is: no.

But then again, whats the difference between a stimulant-induced increase in heart rate, and an exercise-induced increase in heart rate?

Uhhhhh, when you exercise your muscles get a workout, dumbass.

This is why I specifically referred to the heart. If I run for 30 min. and increase my heart rate (e.g. say 50%), the heart has to beat faster, has to work harder, and in turn grows stronger. This is (obviously) how "exercise" works: you challenge a muscle to do more, and it grows stronger to adapt.

So, returning to the original question about the heart, how do the two stimuli differ with respect to their ability to increase heart rate?

There are a lot of data showing that stimulants increase physical performance (e.g. ability to perform exercise). Thus, the two seem to have some sort of overlap in terms of their physiological effects.

...the whole experience is (and is as) a profound piece of knowledge.  It is an indellible experience; it is forever known.  I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did.

...most subjects find the experience valuable, some find it frightening, and many say that is it uniquely lovely.

There's more to exercise than simple cardiovascular stimuli. It's heightened sensory stimuli. It's pulmonary stimuli. Muscular stimuli. etc.

Blood pressure activity alone relates very little to losing weight or gaining a fit body. If I took pills for hypo/hypertension, it wouldn't be effective at getting the body I want.
