that you're a bunch of over-fed, loud, obnoxious, fat ,ignorant, arrogant pig-headed over-patriotic power hungry fuckwits with too much money and too many RV's with a perfectly good continent that you're fucking up just beautifully, with possibly the most corrupt and evil government the world hsa ever seen.

yeah, but the stereo types are still my view, and no amount of reasoning can change that. Just the same as you probably picture all australians as steve irwins or something, I dunno.

You just said honest view of america, and i was being honest. like i said, ive met a few americans that were ok, but the majority of them have just pissed me off.

I'm not saying that there are no obnoxious Americans...of course there are.  But, not all of us are that way.  I always find it humorous when meeting a foreigner and I can almost see them begin to wrinkle their nose when they find out I'm from America and then I usually win them over.  :shrug:

lol, australia is full of loud-mouthed fatasses, far more than america that ive seen. but keep in mind i stay away from the miwest and southern states as much as possible so my perception may be a little skewed.

Thats a pretty narrow-minded view of the world ya got there.  You'd do yourself well to avoid stereotypes a bit more.  Not to say there aren't elements of truth in stereotypes, but they often lead to the exact kind of bigoted thinking you have just displayed.

And I never had any  such stereotypical thoughts about Aussies before I lived there.  In fact, once I got there (I lived in Queensland for 2 years) I found it to be very similar to America in most ways.  You guys just talk funny, thats all. :smirk:

This thread is great at finding typical stereotypes. I can see that a lot of anger is based mostly off how the government works, not the little people who have no affiliations with the government, such as me, my friends, and my family.

And I always pictured Australians as identical to Americans or Europeans. They sell the same clothes all over the world, and pictures of people wearing the same styles in every developed country make me not able to distinguish different cultures as easily.

Admittedly, with all of the crap that the American media puts out it would be easy to establish some stereotypes of us. Imagine being a foreigner and seeing "The Maury Show" and "Jerry Springer" all of the time. I'd think we were nuts too.

And to the rest of you, i said that my views up there were stated from the stereo types. That's my overall view and for the most part it hasn't really served me too badly at all, really. I understand it is a stereotype, but it's just the general idea. I think everyone at some stage is subject and has faith in a stereotype, as someone said, they hold some truth. I don't really care what you think of australia or anywhere else, i was just answering the call of the fucking thread.

I watch a lot of TV, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like to see what's going on on this small and crazy planet, but I am very aware of the information I'm being subjected to and the stereotypes I'm being fed. I understand your country has decent people and is a nice place, but there's a lot about it I dislike as well. I have met a lot of americans that shit me, but also a lot that don't, that being said, I pretty much feel thesame about the french.

But you get that everywhere you go, so whatever. Don't get pissy just because i'm not like "OMFG AMERICA IS LIEK SO COOL LIEK THEY HAVE A KUL FLAG AND LIEK AWSUM KUL RAPPERZ THAT LIEK ARE 2 HARDKORZ LOL"

For the most part I find Americans to be good hearted people, but the propaganda there minds have been filled with make it almost impossible for them to see what the situation is. Fortunately we have places like these, filled with people that have woken up to the propaganda, and do not fit the general stereotype. I feel quite disturbed sometimes by the lack of education given about the world in general in high schools in America. I lived with who i consider to be an awakened being who came from Maryland for a few years. We had many conversations about the state of ignorance of the majority of American people. That is not to say that there are not intelligent people who know the score. I just find that generally the Americans that I have met have no idea what is going on in there own countries let alone any other countries.

The Internet is a great blessing, and everyone in the U.S and indeed the world should have access. This will help so much to lessen he political as well as the spiritual and ecological ignorance of the masses.
