What are the primary causes for aborts w/Pans???
    #732799 - 07/09/02 04:33 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Getting a bunch of aborts with Pan Cambos.
Some shrooms are very tall skinny and turning black/blue and shriveling up.
Some are pins and turning black/blue.
Some whole and otherwise healthy shrooms are turning all blue.

What could be the most likley causes???

I havent specificly tried pan cambos but with my pan trops I found the two factors that caused mine to abort alot were moisture and air exchange. If I wouldnt fan mine at least three times a day they would start to abort. Also once the pins started they dont seem to like alot of humidity. If it was too humid in the grow chamber(over 80%) or if I misted them at all, they would abort. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks HKC,

I believe you are right on.

They are currently in a rubbermade with another on top with 6 3/4" holes it it
for air exchange.

Had a few of the holes taped over to induce pinning and left them covered after
cropping had begun. Not enough air exchange? All holes are open now.

Also misting the Coir casing 1 - 2 times a day. Too moist?
Will stop misting.

These things are probably contributing to the aborts.
It is about 1 week into the cropping phase, can this abort trend be turned around
at this late in the game?

Anyone with other input on this subject???
