About to set up my 'lab', what would you suggest?

I live in a relatively large house and have a completely empty room I can devote to this. I'm not sure if I should just devote a corner or try and make the entire room as sterile as possible. I could throw a tarp over the carpet,and tape it to the walls to keep crap from getting kicked up, seal off the vents and get a heppa for it but I'm wondering if that would be worth it, all that trouble.

Any suggestions?

Personally, I would say to pick up both TMC and GGMM by Stamets. His books revolve around large-scale cultivation.

Just get a cool mist and a few rubbermaid tubs...that should keep you in shrooms for a long ass time. No reason to make an entire room sterile like that.

I have a room dedicated to this but other than my terrariums the only thing i'll be adding is a long narrow table with a chair( little work area) and a glove box. No need to turn it into a clean room. Start small and add stuff over time. Don't get carried away.
Like any hobbie there is no limit to the money you can spend. Get the minimum you need to get started and then add as you need more.
TMC is definitly a good investment

I have a large house too.

I have a room I'm working on.

the whole room is covered in Visqueen (heavy duty plastic).

If you can afford a hobby room.....I say go for it.
