KB's Smoking Blend
    #7301465 -

This is how KidBotany, aka CptnGarden makes his Sacred Smoke.

I like fresh ingredients first of all, and everyone likes their blend a bit different so theres no "right" amount of anything to add, its all whatever you feel comfortable with. The ingredients are all up to you when it comes to designing your own mix, and theres a lot of herbs out there to help smooth and add flavor to the mix. Curing is also very important for a few additives.

One of my favorite smokes happends to be lavender.
Heres a fresh harvest drying on printer paper:

after they dry I throw them into a jar

Theres many varieties of lavender, I like to mix them as they all generally smell quite pleasant, and burn about the same.

I then open the jar every day to fan out excess moisture.
When you enclose the plant material that has been dry to the feel, into the jars, moisture comes out from the center of the plant to even out the moisture content of the jar. Then everyday you fan out a little bit of moisture, and over time slowly leach the material of its last bits of moisture. This is the process of curing!
I only do this with very harsh smokes, like lavender is if you dont cure it. Thing that seem to clump and "bud" like lavender does, makes a great curing herb.

heres some arctostaphylos uva-ursi, dried on the left, and a nice fresh harvest on the right. this herb is commonly used because it crumbles easily into small pieces when dry, and its a very smooth and pleasant smoke.

I also like to use its cousin Arctostaphylos manzanita aka "little apple" of the same habitat as another herb I use; Eriodictyon Californicum aka "Yerba Santa".

on to the smoke!

From left to right;

Top row: Sacred Tobacco (Rustica) cured leaf, Yerba Santa (Eriodictyon), White Lily (Nymphaea)

Second Row: Wild Dagga leaf (Leonuri), Uva-ursi leaf, Manzanita leaf

Bottom: Marihuanilla flowers and leaf (Sibericus)

now lemme explain some of these ingredients, first of all

Uva-ursi and Manzanita, these two make great smokes cause they crush up finely with ease and are very smooth and pleasant to smoke. they both also have lots of medicinal qualities to them. These should be a "buffer" for your other herbs, smoothing the smoke. If your smoke is too harsh or bitter, add more of these!

Tobaccos
are nothing new to most people, just cure them how you like them, and the amount you add is based on personal preference. if your new to tobacco, this isnt the time or way to experiment with it. Depending on the strength, these can provide quite a backbone for most brujo blends.

Yerba Santa is highly medicinal and adds character, spice, flavor, and relaxation to the experience. The key to Yerba Santa is to use very little amounts. This is a very aromatic and strong herb, and it can easily overpower a smoking blend with its force. Start low, you can always add more after u blend. I like to mix it until I can smell it lightly among the mix. Feel free to test taste your mix before you finish blending it too, this can help you decide what to do next if your a beginner.

Lavenders are wonderful to add for their flavor, but can be replaced by any smokeable aromatic plant. Feel free to add spices to your mix, including cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, dried citrus peels, etc.

White Lily
is very relaxing, provides subtle euphoria, and gives you fluid thoughts.

Leonuri and Marihuanilla are very bitter, and very harsh, but add an extremely peaceful relaxation, and clears the mind and seems to slow it down to a degree. Flowers are preferred by most people over the leaf, but I dont see any problem with leaf if used in a blend, and its of more abundance. Marihuanilla flowers when smoked plain, aren't very pleasant, however Leonuri flowers smoked plain actually are quite pleasant.

Mixed up and pounded:

I also decided to throw in some cured lavender this time, so I held the plant buds by their growing tips, and pulled the little chunks in the opoosite direction, they came right off the stem. I added both white and blue lavenders.

here it is ready to try, it smells very good, like bubblegum-cinnamon-pine, its very soft and fluffy to the fingers, a little bit sticky but dry as a bone

smoke test came back pleasant, mild euphoria and a very pleasant taste similar to the scent.

I threw it into a jar for curing, hopefully it will bring out some hidden flavors in there, and really bring life to the smoke.

slight nausea when the euphoria is gone.
lasts a good 20-30 minutes, with a good hour or so of subtlness.
the peak of the euphoria is felt at about the 10min mark.

definitely a powerful smoke.:stoned:

Here's my blend...

Get some "Lettuce Opium" from Iamshaman.com or www.wildlettuce.com, it taste GREAT and makes you sleepy...

Blue Lotus also kicks ass, it kinda has the same effects as weed and lettuce opuim...but with it's own thing...

Iamshaman.com has GREAT blue lotus...

Do not buy the white lotus tho...it sucks! Get the blue...this one http://www.iamshaman.com/eshop/10Expand.asp?ProductUID=1432&ProductCode=BLP-HOZ

Teotzlcoatl's Herbal Hash-
Really good Cannabis
Lettuce Opium
Blue Lotus flower petals
And alittle bit of pipe resin as a binder

Grind everything and then mix it together into a ball....then SMOKE IT!!

That's my favorite smoke...Huge buzz and zero nausea

yeah i kinda didnt include cannabis

it would completely overpower the experience of everything else. the point of blending is to create a balance, so that all parts of the smoke stand out and compliment each other. Having a smoke based on a few relaxant/sedatives and cannabis is kinda useless in my opinion
cannabis is gold on its own.

you were probably better off smoking the cannabis alone and saving the blue lotus and opium lettuce to mix with something else.

also, gonna have to call bullshit about you saying blue lotus is like opium lettuce or cannabis.
neither of these substances are similar to each other in effect, both physical and mental
and instead of dissing white lotus and boasting blue lotus, you should realize they are nearly the same potency and switch to Nymphaea Caerulea
the lily family is a much more potent form.

I heard Nymphaea alba(?) aka white lotus had zero chemicals....somebody told me that...I guess I'm wrong...

And your telling me Nymphaea Caerulea is better than Nelumbo nucifera?

They are all very different but I really didn't feel like going into all that...they are all euphioric and sedating would you not agree?

you probably her that from me on another post like a week or so ago. IME i have not gotten effect from white lotus, but have from blue lotus (http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7297110/an/0/page/0/gonew/1#UNREAD). and i agree on not useing cannabis in blends unless you are trying to conserve bud. it overpowers most other herbal smokes.

I guess it all depends on your source of lotus, but fresh white and fresh blue are nearly the same potency. A friend back in CA had them growing in halved wine barrel things, I tried them soaked into alcohol and smoking them, and both works great. Alcohol extraction being the more potent of the two.

I bought 50 Nymphaea Caerulea seeds, and 50 Nymphaea Alba seeds on eBay for 5$ and gave half of them to my friend, traded off the rest here, and he only got 3 blue, 4 white to grow out, it took nearly a year to get some decent blooms going, and we both experimented with those for a while. In my experience they are much more potent, theres definitely something else to the experience too but not enough to overpower the same effect we got from blue lotus.

It contains the active alkaloids nupharine and nymphaeine, and is a sedative and an aphrodisiac. Although roots and stalks are used in traditional herbal medicine along with the flower, the petals and other flower parts are the most potent. Alcohol can be used to extract the active alkaloids, and it also boosts the sedative effects.

and some other cool info

Medicinal Uses

Anaphrodisiac -  no sex drive ; Anodyne - used commercially for pain and anxiety relief; Antiscrophulatic - Anti Tuberculosis; Astringent; Cardiotonic; Demulcent - soothes irritated surfaces it touches; Sedative - duh.

The rhizome is anodyne, antiscrofulatic, astringent, cardiotonic, demulcent and sedative[4, 7, 9, 240]. A decoction of the root is used in the treatment of dysentery or diarrhoea caused by irritable bowel syndrome. It has also been used to treat bronchial catarrh and kidney pain and can be taken as a gargle for sore throats[254]. Externally it can be used to make a douche to treat vaginal soreness or discharges. In combination with slippery elm (Ulmus rubra) or flax (Linum usitatissimum) it is used as a poultice to treat boils and abscesses[254]. The rhizome is harvested in the autumn and can be dried for later use[254]. The flowers are anaphrodisiac and sedative[254]. They have a generally calming and sedative effect upon the nervous system, reputedly reducing the sex drive and making them useful in the treatment of insomnia, anxiety and similar disorders[254].

A complete cure of uterine cancer by a decoction and uterine injection has been recorded[4].

According to one report the plant is not used in modern herbal practice, though it has been quoted as a remedy for dysentery[9].

no alkaloids? horse hockey.
seems the roots active also, and as far as safety goes ide say that if it cures cancer and tuberculosis (look up treatment for both...) then I wouldnt worry.

Yuck. Plain and simple. Why would you waste amazing tasting cannabis with harsh lettuce opium and blue lotus smoke, and then to top it off RESIN, that sounds like a terrible cough fest with a headache.

Nobody should smoke resin. Even if you have been dry for weeks, never resort to smoking a ball of tar, I mean seriously. You are smoking the leftover waste of smoke....YUCK...that's like a cokehead picking his nose after a binge and eating the boogers.
