how do you harvest?

i've been having some gnarly divots pulled up recently when harvesting. I was thinking about starting to cut them at the base close to the myc mat.

any one have suggestions?

Firmly grab the bottom of the mushroom and twist while you pull.. If that Doesnt work for you, Then cutting them might work. But you dont want any left over mushroom on the casing, Could eventually rot.

cut them and then use a spoon to scrape the parts leftover off, thats what i used to do if i remember right.

Yeah, whatever works works, just don't leave anything on there to rot. That's the problem with cutting. Damn near impossible to get it all off. The divots really don't hurt anything, they're easy enough to patch.
