what do you cover your 12qt bulk containers with?

no matter what mine allllway grow those co2 starved skinny, long mushrooms b4 100% colonization. I use the lid that comes with the container. I need to use something else I'm guessing. what do you guys use?

I use aluminum foil. Also after a few days I poke holes and cover the 1/4 inch holes with breathable tape. Why don't you take some pictures to show us, and then you will get a better answer to your problem.

I, too, used to have the same problem. This is what I do now, and it works perfectly. I cover them with saran wrap, which creates a fairly air tight cover. Of course, you need some gas exchange, so I poke 4-6 holes in the saran wrap with the heated, flat end of a nail. I cover these holes with micropore tape that has been dipped in alcohol. Finally, I cover everything with aluminum foil that has been crumpled up and uncrumpled. This allows the gases that are released to find a path to travel.
