perlite not making container humid...

I put the perlite and water in my half gallon container over 12 hours ago, and its not humid, at all. What am I doing wrong..?

Maybe the water is too dry.

Mebe rig up a small aquarium heater in its own water vessel an pit that in there ,if yer talkin cakes i realy dont know much bout them my friend always prefered casings which usualy provide enough humidity on their own with out the perilite .MEW

Make sure the top/cover of the container is tight, or your humidity is going to piss right out of the container. Also make sure it's warm enough in the container. Hope that helps, good luck. -Bruiser

How do you know the chamber is not humid at all? Do you have a hygrometer? You can have no condensation on the walls and still have 80 - 90 % RH. Check that!

the only thing i have heard in reguard to this is that your water level may be too high, i let mine float, but some say you have to have the water level below the perlite to get good RH

according to the pf tek youre supposed to soak the perlite then completly drain it. its good to keep it drained as well. if you spray every other day youll keep the perlite wet. trust me, if you spray the sides and your perlite has been soaked and drained you will be able to fruit, and good. the aqurium pump in a glass of water is cool but unneeded. go cheap, go simple.

I had the same problem no humidty with perlite than I added a 40$ heating pad under neath and boom the humidity went ski rocating water all over the terrrium hope that helped!
