Monotub wont colinize fully
    #7266348 -

It has been 13 days since 4 quarts WBS was mixed with a brick of coir. For the past 5 days it seems to have stalled at 90% colonization. I'm worried if i let it go for any longer overylay will start. What should i do?

induce fruiting, id say
hope it colonizes or uses that area as 'casing' at some point =)

ppl still use coir for casings, right?

dysphoria has it right, just start to fruit and myc will eventually start to colonize the rest of your substrate. This happened to me a couple weeks back and now the whole monotubs is colonized and fruiting well. No worries!

As long as you haven't cased yet, you shouldn't worry about overlay.

That being said 13 days is a long time. I have never used coir as a substrate, but it still seems excessive. H-poo or h-poo/straw usually colonized in ~5 days.

It could be that your checking it too much. You know 'A watched pot never boils' and all.

The un-colonized parts could also be infested with bacteria, if this is the case the smell would give it away.

Either way, give it a few more days, WITHOUT CHECKING IT!

And if those sections are still not colonized, you could try removing them with a sterile spoon.
