incubation tempatures
    #7259202 -

Ok. I have my mycobags incubating at 85 F. Now all the guides I read say 86 is the perfect tempature for growing mycilium. But whenever I post something or read someones thread, some have it in the 70s and some 82 is perfect. what is the correct awnser?? What temp does everyone think is perfect optimum mycelium growth?

i am growing brazilian in 2 mycobags

As far as i can tell there aint no perfect temp. 85 sounds great to me though. Alot of spore suppliers will give a good temp for incubating shrooms on some verities, if your's didnt 85 is fine. anything in the low 70s sounds wrong to me and sounds more like the temp you'd have it at to get it to pin. I've hear 82 is perfect, but have nothing to back that up. Just go with the mid 80s dude.

Incubate at the room temperature  A little longer but better.

hmm  even in asking the question i get very varied results. i guess it proves my point. xaxphaanes i am definitly going to say you are probably correct. I am gonna keep it at 85.  it actually ranges from about 81-85 during the day since it is outside. i will post pics when i start to see white stuff. :tongue2:

83 degrees F is the optimal air temperature for colonizing cubensis. The often quoted figure of 86 is, apparently, wrong. Colonizing jars, and especially mycobags generate some of their own heat as well so I wouldn't incubate them any higher than 80.

I don't like to incubate cubes AT ALL because I find it to be unnecessary and it creates a more inviting environment for heat loving contams. Who cares if you shave a week off the colonization time only for your jars to turn green?

BTW my jars colonize in the high 70's and fruit in the high 80's to low 90's, so just so you know, the temp drop isn't required for pinning.

well there is so much conflicting info... i will wait and see. i just really want to get some results this time. I have seen my friends get jars contamed by using the PF Tek twice, so this is why i went with the bags. kinda foolproof. if i get 10g dried i will be happy and excited to try new, harder methods.
