Do you think you will live to see reasonably affordable commercial space flights?

I know that you can pay millions of dollars to go into space for 30 seconds or some crap like that, but do you think that in the next 40 years or so, your middle-class American citizen will be able to go into space for the cost of a vacation?

Do you think that it will ever happen? (for those Moon Landing conspiracy theorists out there)

a few reasons.

1) im banned from the pub
2) it has philosophical potential.
3) I already know the answer I would get from MRP

It can involve someones opinion on why we wont.... such as how the government may never allow it so we never know the truth about UFo's.... or whatever, but it does have potential.

No, nor do I see much value in what these would provide. Ego-inflating bragging rights at the cost of tremendous non-renewable resources while millions of people die ever year because they don't have access to these same resources?

For me a good DMT trip will cut the mustard just fine. Much more affordable and the resulting experience is plenty fantastic. Plus no need to use God only knows how much energy to reach escape velocity. In the words of chinacat72:

I am sure the by 2012 going into outer space will be about the price of current bus fare. 50cents to one dollar and you can get a transfer that will be good for 90 light years.
