Who monitors the pools to make sure the points are transferred to the winners?

The lottery is easy, its once a week...and a designated number of points go to one user.

This idea would require a lot of work

It would work because points wouldn't be required to be transferred at the end of the pool from user to user, the points would be transferred to a hold account, and then transferred at the end of the pool to the winner. you wouldn't be able to make a bet without send the points. Ya' dig? And yeah, i'm talking about being able to bet on anything at all. I still think it's a kickass idea, we need more support!!! I haven't heard anything from Ythan either, I sent him a PM. He probably busy tho, he'll eventually find it.

I still think code could be written to dispense points to the winning betters @ pool end, but, if necessary, I'll volunteer to mod it, and i'm sure we could get someone else if necessary.

I hate it when non-programmers tell me how easy their request would be to implement. Just because it has some elements in common with the points lottery doesn't mean I could reuse that script. Anyway I don't really see why you need a separate script or a separate forum to accomplish this. Like jewunit said, it's already possible; just make a thread, have everyone transfer points at the end, and give bad trade ratings to anyone who bitches out. :shrug:

What happens if 50 people want to bet on the same thing?  Can you imagine how much of a disaster that would be, trying to get 50 people to send points accordingly?

So just have a trusted member collect points from everyone, then they can distribute them.
