couple questions

k... ive been huntin a good bit lately, and ive had little to no success.

one of the fields ive been going to is full of mushies that look almsot exactly like wut i would call a cube. Only differences is color really. They grow on dung, have a very noticeable veil, and seriously look just like them. The cap has the same cream-to-darker center except the darker portion has more of a brown/maroon tint. The gills are brown, and the veil turns brown after being picked. In fact, it actually "blues" a brownish color. anyways, does anyone have any idea wut these are? could they be cubes? The only reason i ask is b/c ive bought some cubes that had brownish caps(about the same color) - with large white stems.

nother question...

in this same field... ALOT of the poo is covered with that white/cummy/spiderweb lookin stuff that ive seen in the pix/grow forums. Do all shrooms pin out of this stuff? or is it just cubes? or perhaps psilocybes?

The 'cummy' stuff is mycelium. It is what fruits mushrooms. If they look cubes except the color, they're probably cubes. Be careful, though. Ingestion of a poisonous mushroom could cause your liver to fail and you to die a slow painful death over a two week period.

but, i would never eat em without some sort of positive ID so i guess im screwed.

btw, wut color should the gills be before the veil breaks on its on? these are white... but it looks as tho they turn brown after the veil breaks

well... after goin through lots of old posts i think these guys are some kind of lepoita (sp?).

but as for the other question... there have been no cubes in this field so far this year, its a heck of a drive to get to this one so i really dont care to go back if im not gunna find anything. The white stuff is everyhwere... how possible is it that its going to grow cubes out of it? anyway i can speed up the growing process? How long should it take that stuff to produce mush if it gets a decent rain every couple of days?
