dunking bulk sub

I saw someone dunking monobuckets prior to casing here (verm/coir sub).

Would it also be good to dunk a straw monotub?

What about a straw/cowpoo sub before casing and putting in the FC?

I would wait until the first flush is over than dunk, if you hydrated the substrate to field capacity like you should have, it will be fine.

Hydrated it to field capasity when I first mixed with the spawn, you mean? I did that.

But I didn't rehydrate thereafter, just cased as soon as it was white all over.

just in the monobucket post (link above) he says you get much bigger yields dunking before casing. If that's true, presumably it would apply to any monotub type tek.

I thought it might not apply to a tek where humidity is coming from somewhere other than the substrate.

Guess the way to find out is with a side-by-side experiment.

Even if you have your bulk substrate at field capacity when you start moisture is used up by the mycelium and lost through evaporation.
