Karma smiled on me tonight...front and center at Willie Nelson! *update - video added*

The ticket Gods must've thought I've been deserving of something special!

My neighbor came by this afternoon and said he was gonna go check out the Willie Nelson concert tonight.  There were still general admission tickets available but we thought we'd try our luck first.  The very first guy we asked said he had an extra we could buy.  Said it was a great seat in the pit.  So we bought his ticket and then shortly scored one more from a passerby.

When we got into the show we found out that the first ticket was dead center, second row!  So my neighbor went down (had to have floor tickets to get down there) and met the guys who sold us the ticket.  He got one of their stubs and came back for me.  I went down with him and to my suprise the only open seat was right in front of them....front row and literally one seat to the left of dead center!!  So guess where I got to sit!!

What a fucking awesome show!  I took a bunch of pics and even got some great video.  In fact I managed to get the entire song "On The Road Again" on video.  It was one of the best shows I've been to in many years, and literally the best seat I've ever had at a concert.  Praise to the ticket Gods tonight!!

Oh yeah, we paid $50 for our tickets, the seats were $150 face value!!  :woot:

Hmmmm, not familiar enough with those 2 that I recognized them right off. But I don't think so. He did play one of my favorites, 'Pancho and Lefty'. And he did some old Hank Williams tunes including 'Move it on over'. He also played some newer tunes of his that I didn't recognize. One that I liked was called 'You don't think I'm funny anymore'.

As a side note, there were tons of people smoking pot there. Some dude threw a joint at Willie and he picked it up, put it in his pocket, and kept on playing! Also, some chick threw her panties on stage! I haven't seen that happen in a long time. Willie picked 'em up and hung them over his guitar.

Willie is the man!

OK...enjoy. Not the best quality video in the world, but what do you expect from a compact digital stills camera (and I had to size it down a bit to make the file size manageable).

Awesome! He's coming here in early August, we're debating whether or not we want to pay $55 each for tickets though...I'm sure we'll break down in the end. :smirk:
