The fastest to start colonizing...a surprise!!

Hey there,
Which one do you think it was? PF was fast but no, that was not it. The freebie Fla I got from a generous vendor was real quick but no, that was not it either. Nor was it HAW, TC, MAZ, PinkB, T3, LipaY, LamaiB or any other mainstream items. No, it was a Texan from Goliad County...now that one just jumped to start of colonization in 2.5 days. I had to rub my eyes to check if I was seeing things...WHEW it is extremely fast with aggressive large sections started all at once also. It looked just like all the rest in the syringe but man did it react explosively in the substrate. High recommended...

Hey there, Well, this was time for starting trials. The T3 and PinkB I got from TheLittleGuy Spores are actually doing pretty well in the colonizing department. As far as the bonafides on the Texan(Goliad County) go, you will have to check with Mr. D over at http://mushroom-madness.com/ to get that information... Best regards, KingBolete

ive seen isolated instances of quick colonization by several strains, the B+ I got from www.sporeworks.com and the spores I got from pf but time after time, I find the Tapalpa strain from www.sporelab.com to be fastest.

Hey there,
This trial is about speed of start of colonization as much as the colonization itself. The PF I got from Fanaticus definitely jumped up there just about as fast. Very close contest..a matter of a couple of hours ya know . Neither one took a full 72 hours to show a strong start...what was unusual about the Goliad item was all the area where the inoculation had taken place took all at once so to speak. The PF item did sorta the same but not as large an initial takeoff area.

Hey there,
Are you messaging to me or the other guy that posted? You'll find I am not CaptMax or anyone else you have every met on any of the Myco boards. Just a friend giving 'shrooms a look after wondering all these years. I did communicate with someone called CaptMax about the Ps. Cyanescens prints and saw he was associate with a specific place (Mt. Elphie), but that is the extent for my knowledge about the CaptMax persona. FYI what I know about shrooms is just what I have read, dug out and discovered thru a little experimentation...about like the rest of the folks on these boards. I am a Society Anonymous type person.
Best regards,
KingBolete
P.S. I guess I should be Red-Cracked Bolete because what I found in my backyard turned out to be Red-Cracked Bolete and not King Bolete. They came up under an oak tree...more FYI. I indentified it using the 14year old copy of The Audubon Society Guide for North American Mushrooms.

i think you would call anybody who supports cptn max a puppet, you don't realize that he has real customers, i see another thread that got locked cuz somebody new supported the little guy so he was inferred to be a puppet....i've been lurking for a while, this place is ridiculous!
captn max sent to me even though I'm in California, he's ok in my books...and so was the tapalpa, it took 4 days to germinate, pretty well all the strains i've tried take about 4 days, but it colonized quickly.

I would agree with boxtop on this one. Out of all the strains I have..tassies colonize incredibly too fast. I seen about a half-dollar+ size growth in all 4 innocultation points on all 8 jars in about 4 days. Fully colonized in about a week.

Hey there,
Look, just because I am new to this board does not mean I am new to these TYPES of boards and this nonsense that is off topic. I don't give if is the freaking King of France; he added something concerning the topic and you didn't so take the nitpicking somewhere else and stop stomping on my thread . Thanks.
I have a vested interested in this topic as I have a box of syringes that I have recently acquired at some expense and I am looking to compare my results with others on the board. I am trying to keep this non-vendor centric but of course names are going to come up in the normal flow of posting conversation.
Best regards,
KingBolete.

With multispore innoculation the speed of colonisation of any strain would be pretty much potluck - for proper analysis, you'd need to isolate all the strains you were working with, That being said, Lipa Yai and Tassies are damn fast, but so were puertos...

I'm glad to see that you had a pleasant surprise. Congratulations on your success. The old saying goes "the proof is in the pudding". Your results are the proof. Keep up the good work.

Hey there,
In reply to:

You know I am not sure I understand what multispore inoculation means ..could you give me some insight into why that term is used. I understand that there are multiple spores from any print but that is natural and I would assume the spores from one print of one strain would be similar. I read the FAQ about the cycle and the two spores of different persuation (+ or -) meeting and doing plasmogamy and creating a dikaryotic mycelium (that white stuff..heheh) that outgrows and crowds out the short lived parent hapliod mycelium(a). Any information concerning this and why it makes it a crapshoot would be helpful...thanks. Hey there Mr. D I have the totally fast Goliad beside some almost equally as fast EQ's from Spore Haven and they are both scarfing up the BRF in the BRF/Verm substrate they are living on now. I have a Pink Buffalo that I got from boxtop703 that looks real healthy and I expect great things from it soon... Best regards, King Bolete
